Tips to Keep Your Paper Smooth

Use less water: Gently squeeze your water brush and dab the tip on your wristband if it's too wet.

Let each layer dry: Allow the paper to dry before adding another layer of paint. Repeatedly painting over wet paper can cause bubbling or pilling.

Build colors gradually: Apply light layers instead of scrubbing repeatedly in one spot.

Let pages dry flat: Allow your painting to dry completely before closing your sketchbook.

Flatten curled pages: If a page curls, place it under a heavy book once it's completely dry to help flatten it.
