Shipping & Delivery Costs Explained

Shipping & Delivery Costs Explained Products Sold on Our Website (IKEA, CASA, Bricocenter, The White Stone) For products you purchase on maltashopper.com, the product price you see is the final price — our freight from Italy is already included. The only additional charge is local delivery within Malta, if you choose to have your order delivered rather than collecting it yourself. Local delivery fees are calculated automatically at checkout based on your order. The cost depends on the size, weight, and number of items. You'll see the exact delivery fee before you confirm your order. If you select collection (pickup), there is no delivery charge. You collect your items from our warehouse once we notify you they've arrived. How Delivery Works by Brand IKEA products are delivered from our Mqabba warehouse. If you've paid for delivery, our team will contact you to schedule a date once all items in your order are marked as available. CASA products that are in stock are delivered from our Santa Venera warehouse within 2 working days. Our Santa Venera team will coordinate with you. Bricocenter products are delivered from our Mqabba warehouse, following the same process as IKEA. The White Stone mattresses follow a similar process — we'll be in touch to arrange delivery once your order is ready. Transport-Only Services (Mondo Convenienza & Maisons du Monde) For brands where we provide a transport-only collection service, you pay the supplier directly for the products. Our fee covers the collection from Italy and transport to Malta: - Mondo Convenienza: 20% of the undiscounted order value (minimum €250). Local delivery is €50 standard or €100 with a lifter service. - Maisons du Monde: 25% of the undiscounted order value (minimum €100). Local delivery is charged separately. These fees are always based on the original retail price before any discounts or promotions the supplier may have applied. Gozo Deliveries We deliver to Gozo, normally scheduled once a week. Ground Floor Only Our delivery service covers ground floor only. If you need items delivered to an upper floor, you'll need to arrange a lifting company yourself and coordinate the schedule with our delivery team. International Shipping We ship to most countries worldwide using Maltapost as our carrier. Shipping costs for international orders are shown at checkout. Not all items are stocked in Malta — if you order something that needs to be sourced from our suppliers first, standard lead times apply before we can ship internationally. Storage Fees We have limited warehouse space. Orders will be scheduled for delivery at our discretion. If you refuse delivery, a storage fee of €100 per order per week may apply. Orders uncollected after 3 weeks may be returned, with a refund issued minus any applicable storage fees.

Collection vs Delivery — What's the Difference?

Collection vs Delivery — What's the Difference? When you place an order on Maltashopper, you choose between collection (pickup) or delivery at checkout. Here's how each option works. Collection (Pickup) With collection, you come to our warehouse to pick up your items yourself. There's no delivery charge. Where to collect: - IKEA and Bricocenter products: Mqabba warehouse — Ta' Ghadajma l/o Mqabba (near ST Microelectronics), Malta - CASA products: Santa Venera warehouse — 162 Triq il-Kanun, Santa Venera, Malta When to collect: As soon as you receive an Order Update email or message confirming your items have arrived, you can visit during our opening hours to pick them up. Please make sure you bring a vehicle suitable for your items — we recommend checking the package dimensions on the product page before you come. How long can I wait before collecting? We have very limited warehouse space, so please arrange collection promptly once notified. Orders that remain uncollected may incur storage fees (€100 per order per week after 3 weeks). Delivery With delivery, we bring your order to your address in Malta. A delivery fee is added at checkout — the cost depends on the size, weight, and number of items in your order. You'll see the exact amount before you pay. How delivery works: Once all items in your order have arrived at our warehouse, our team will contact you to schedule a delivery date. We can also give you a call approximately one hour before arrival. Important — ground floor only: Our delivery service covers the ground floor only. If you live in an apartment above ground floor, you'll need to arrange a lifting company and coordinate the timing with our delivery team. Any lifting costs are your responsibility. Gozo: We deliver to Gozo, normally once a week. What if I can't make the delivery date? Let us know and we'll reschedule. You can also have someone else receive the delivery on your behalf. Can I Switch Between Collection and Delivery? If you selected delivery at checkout but would prefer to collect instead, contact us and we can arrange this. You'll receive a store credit for the delivery fee. If you selected collection but would prefer delivery, contact us — we can usually add delivery, though an additional fee will apply. What If My Order Arrives in Multiple Shipments? If your order contains items from different suppliers or stock locations, it may arrive at our warehouse in stages. If you've paid for delivery, we'll contact you once everything is ready. The delivery charge covers up to two separate deliveries for one order, so if part of your order arrives later, we'll arrange a second delivery at no extra cost.

First Floor & Lifter Delivery

Why Ground Floor Only? Our standard delivery service is to ground floor only. This is because: - Many items are large and heavy (wardrobes, sofas, beds) - Stairwells in Malta are often narrow - Carrying heavy items upstairs risks damage to products and property - It ensures safe working conditions for our delivery team Can Items Fit in My Lift? If your building has a lift, items may be able to go up if: - The lift interior can accommodate packages up to 200cm in length - The item fits through all doorways and corridors Please measure your lift interior and check package dimensions before ordering. Package sizes are listed on product pages. First Floor Delivery Options If you need items delivered above ground floor, you must arrange a lifter (furniture hoist) service: 1. Choose "lifter service" in the delivery options. This is needed as you will need our team to give you an exact time appointment. 2. Confirm the delivery date with our customer care team 3. Get your local council permit 4. Book a lifter service at the delivery time arranged with our Customer care team. What's a Lifter? A furniture lifter is a mechanical hoist that raises items to upper floors via a balcony or window. It's commonly used in Malta for large furniture deliveries. Requirements for Lifter Delivery - Accessible balcony or large window - No overhead obstructions (wires, trees, awnings) - Street access for the lifter vehicle - Someone must be present to receive items Alternative Options If lifter delivery isn't possible: - Arrange your own transportation from our warehouse - Hire a third-party moving company - Consider smaller/lighter product alternatives
