GameSir G7 SE User Manual

Overview#

A wired controller for Xbox and PC, which is the first Xbox-licensed controller to feature Hall Effect sticks, meaning no stick drift with use. This guide explains connection, settings, calibration, and troubleshooting common issues.

Features#

• Hall Effect sticks: Frictionless magnetic sensing, preventing stick drift, with anti-friction glide rings.
• Tuned analog triggers: 100% response area over the full trigger travel.
• Two lockable back buttons: R4 and L4 buttons are programmable and can be disabled via the lock switch.
• Full software customization: Three profiles via the GameSir Nexus software.
• Four vibration motors: Two in the grips and two behind the triggers.

Device Layout and Button Names#

The USB-C port is located in the middle of the top edge, and the indicator light is directly above the Xbox button. The R4 and L4 back buttons are marked in red, and each back button has its own dedicated lock switch.

Connection and Use#

Connecting to Xbox or PC#

1. Connect the detachable USB-C cable to the controller, then connect the other end to your Xbox or PC.
2. Press the Xbox button briefly to turn on the controller.
3. The white indicator stays solid when the connection is successful.
4. Insert the plug firmly without pressing any buttons during connection; you may hear a slight click when the port is seated.

Switching Input Mode#

To switch the input mode, press and hold the Xbox button and the Share button together.

Back Button Programming#

The R4 and L4 back buttons have no default function, meaning pressing them produces no input before they are programmed; the M button is the programming key.

To program a back button:

1. Press and hold the M button with the back button you wish to program until the indicator begins to flash.
2. Press the button whose function you want to copy to the back button.

To cancel programming:

1. Press and hold the M button with the same back button until the indicator begins to flash.
2. Press the same back button again to clear the function.

Button Combinations#

The A B X Y buttons marked in red are the profile switching buttons when used with the M button.

Calibration#

1. Press and hold the View, Menu, and Xbox buttons while inserting the USB-C cable into the PC port; the Xbox button indicator will start flashing white slowly.
2. Ensure you do not touch the LT and RT triggers or the sticks, then press the A button.
3. Press the LT and RT triggers to their maximum travel, and rotate the sticks at their maximum angle three times each, then press the A button.
4. The white indicator will stay solid to indicate calibration is complete.

Reset#

1. Press and hold the View, Menu, and M buttons until the logo button flashes.
2. Then press and hold the Xbox button for three seconds.
3. This will clear all profiles and settings, and the controller will return to factory settings.

Companion Software and Firmware Update#

1. Install the GameSir Nexus software on your PC or Xbox console.
2. Connect the controller via cable, then press the upward-pointing arrow in the top right of the screen labeled Firmware Update.
3. Do not disconnect the cable during the update.

FAQ#

The controller is connected and the lights are on, but there is no response in-game

Ensure the cable is securely connected, try another port on the device, and then try another cable. If the issue persists, reset the controller by pressing View, Menu, and M together.

The back buttons are not working

The back buttons have no default function and produce no input before they are programmed; the programming method is explained in the Back Buttons section.

The Xbox button opens the device shutdown menu

Go to device settings, then General, then TV & display options, then Device control, and disable the HDMI-CEC feature.

The 1000Hz polling rate option does not appear on Xbox

Xbox consoles impose a maximum limit of 250Hz, therefore the 1000Hz option is only available on PC.

The indicator light is too bright and bothers me

From the Xbox console settings, go to Accessibility, then Night mode, then controller brightness.

Are internal spare parts sold separately?

Internal spare parts such as electronic components and ports are not sold separately. Available for separate purchase: the cable, faceplates, stick caps, and anti-friction rings.

Does overcharging damage the battery?

All GameSir controllers have overcharge protection, and charging stops automatically when the battery is full.

Headset is not working via the 3.5mm jack

Ensure the headset plug is fully inserted until seated inside the jack, verify that microphone mute is not enabled, and from Xbox settings, set the headset audio to uncompressed stereo mode.

Documentation Notes#

• In the FAQ section on the official page, platforms are mentioned as Xbox consoles and Windows systems only, while the specifications table adds Android; both forms are present in the source itself.
• In the official drawing on the GameSir website, the name of the left lock switch is incorrectly labeled as the right switch; the correct situation is that each back button has its own dedicated lock switch.
