Connection and Use
Connecting to Xbox and PC
- Use the included USB-C cable to connect the controller to the device.
- Press the logo button briefly to turn on the controller.
- A steady white indicator means the connection was successful.
The USB-C port is located in the middle of the top edge, and the indicator is directly above the logo button.

Audio Control
- Press and hold the M button + D-pad Up or Down to increase or decrease the master volume (eleven levels).
- You will hear an alert tone when reaching the maximum or minimum level.
- Press and hold the M button + D-pad Right or Left to increase game volume/decrease chat volume, or vice-versa.
- You will hear an alert tone when reaching the maximum, middle, or minimum level.
Microphone Mute
- When a headset is connected to the audio jack, press the microphone mute button; the indicator will turn steady red, and the mute feature will be active.
- Press the microphone mute button again to turn off the indicator and deactivate mute; this is the default state.
The microphone mute button and audio jack are on the bottom edge.
Programming Back Buttons
The back buttons have no default values, meaning pressing them provides no input until programmed. Buttons that can be mapped to them are A, B, X, Y, LB, RB, LT, RT, LS, RS, D-pad, Menu button, and View button.
- To assign a function: Press and hold the M button + back button (R4 or L4) for three seconds.
- When the indicator begins to blink slowly, press the button whose function you want to copy to the back button.
- The indicator returns to steady, signifying the value has been saved.
- To cancel a function: Press and hold the M button + the same back button for three seconds, then press the back button again; the indicator returns to steady, signifying cancellation.
Hair Trigger Mode
The analog triggers support hair trigger mode, which is enabled or disabled by long-pressing the M button + LT or RT trigger.
Calibration
Calibrating Sticks and Triggers
- Press and hold the View, Menu, and Logo buttons while plugging the USB-C cable into the PC port; the indicator will begin blinking white slowly.
- Ensure you do not touch the LT and RT triggers or the sticks, then press the A button; the indicator will turn off.
- Press the LT and RT triggers to their full travel, and rotate the sticks at their maximum angle three times, then press the A button; the white indicator will become steady, signifying the end of calibration.
- After calibration is complete, you must disconnect and reconnect the controller before use.
Reset
- To reset functions and clear settings: Press and hold the Logo button + Menu button for five seconds.
- To restore device recognition: Press and hold the Logo button + M button for three seconds until you hear a tone, then unplug the cable and reconnect it.
- To force Xbox input mode: Press and hold the Logo button + Share button for three seconds.
- You can also return to default settings by applying the default profile via the M + Y combination.
Companion Software and Firmware Update
- Download the GameSir Nexus app from the Microsoft Store on Xbox or PC, or from the official website.
- Use the software to update the firmware and create three custom configuration profiles.

- If a back button value set from the software differs from a manual setting, the newer one is accepted and immediately replaces the previous one.

FAQ
The controller does not work at all when connected to an Xbox
Perform a hard shutdown of the console by holding the power button for more than ten seconds, then disconnect the power for ten to fifteen seconds and restart. Try a different cable and ensure it is fully inserted. Press the logo button briefly while connected, then try pressing and holding it for more than five seconds. If that fails, press the Logo button + M button for three seconds to restore device recognition and reconnect the cable, or press the Logo button + Share button for three seconds to force Xbox input mode.
The connection drops repeatedly during gameplay
Try another cable and ensure the connection is secure, then try another port—preferably the motherboard ports on the back of the PC—and update the firmware to version 6.40 via the GameSir Nexus app or the manual update tool on PC.
The PC does not recognize the controller
Try a different cable and a different port on the back of the PC, then delete the driver from Device Manager and scan for hardware changes. If the problem persists, press the Logo button + M button for three seconds to restore device recognition, or press the Logo button + Share button for three seconds to force Xbox input mode.
The stick drifts or the trigger does not respond correctly
Perform the stick and trigger calibration as described in the calibration section, then perform a function reset by pressing and holding the Logo button + Menu button for five seconds.
I set the wrong button mapping in the companion software and cannot change it back
You have two options: Reset the functions by holding the Logo button + Menu button for five seconds, or apply the default profile via the M + Y combination.
Face buttons or the D-pad register double presses or incorrect input

The stick moves by itself when I set the dead zone to zero
This is normal behavior, as zero is a physically perfect dead zone, making the stick highly sensitive. Set the value between three and five for normal behavior.
The headset or microphone does not work
Ensure mute is not active and check volume levels, set the polling rate in the GameSir Nexus app to 250Hz, and update the firmware to 6.40. If the problem persists, try another headset to ensure there are no compatibility conflicts.
The back buttons are not working
