Tags and the exercise library

Category: Enode Pro portal

Two building blocks that everything else leans on: the tags that organise your account, and the exercise catalogue behind everything you plan and track.

Tags

Tags are the connective tissue of the whole system: colour-coded labels that attach to athletes, exercises, workouts, sessions, sets and reps, and then follow through every filter, chart and export.

Tag your first-years, your return-to-play group, your Tuesday squad, your competition lifts. Then you can filter the Users, Exercises and Workouts tables by tag, build an Insights chart on a live by-tag group so that "all backs" updates itself as the roster changes, scope a data export by tag instead of picking athletes one by one, and colour-code the Planner, since workout chips carry their tag's colour.

The Tags page in the Manage group lists every tag with live counts of what it is attached to. The tag drawer sets the name, colour, an optional description, an access level, and which kinds of thing the tag may attach to.

Access Who sees it
Private Only you
Internal Everyone in your organisation
Public Provided by Enode, view-only

Deleting a tag detaches it from everything it was on, and says so before it does.

One habit worth building. Tag at the moment of creation. The roster importer and the user drawer both take tags, and a roster tagged on the way in never needs a cleanup afternoon later.

The exercise library

The Exercises page in the Manage group is the catalogue behind everything you plan and track. Browse it, favourite the lifts you actually use, tag it, and extend it with your own entries.

Finding exercises. Search by name or tag, toggle to your favourites, or filter by muscle category and equipment. Each row shows a looping demo animation, the equipment and variation, and the exercise's tags. The star marks a favourite, and favourites float to the top when coaches build workouts, both here and on the gym device.

The exercise drawer. Open an exercise for its full card: an editable name, so you can rename "Back Squat" to whatever your programme calls it while the underlying exercise stays the same, plus movement and equipment details, a rating, free-text notes, tags and variations. The Muscle Map shows the primary and secondary muscles the exercise loads.

Custom exercises. If your programme uses something the catalogue does not have, Create exercise adds your own entry, which then behaves like any other: plannable, trackable, taggable and chartable.

A practical note before you do that: search for the movement and its variations first. Tracking the same movement under two names splits its history in every chart. If creating an exercise leads to the system telling you it already exists, add a variation tag in the exercise creator, you can also add your own custom variations.

Each exercise also carries the training mode and metrics that suit it, which is what the app uses on the gym floor. See Training modes, metrics and feedback.
