Unplug the lamp
Unplug the lamp from the mains before fitting or adjusting the lampshade and ensure it remains unplugged throughout the entire fitting process. -
Remove the retaining ring
Locate the screw ring on the lamp holder . Turn the ring anticlockwise to unscrew and remove it. -
Position the lampshade
Place the lampshade onto the lamp holder so it sits securely in position. -
Refit the retaining ring
Screw the ring back on clockwise to secure the lampshade in place. Ensure the ridge on the ring is facing downwards when tightening. This allows the flat edge at the top to create a better grip and hold the shade firmly in place. -
Check stability
Make sure the lampshade is straight and securely fastened before plugging the bul back in. -
Reconnect power
Once fully secured, plug the lamp back into the mains.
