My Card Was Working, Now It Goes to the Wrong Page (or 404)
If your ZappyCard worked previously but now shows a "404 error," "too many redirects," or takes customers to the wrong page, the issue is almost always with the URL the card points to — not the card itself.
Most common causes
- Your Google review URL changed — Google occasionally updates review URLs, which can leave your card pointing at a dead link.
- The Google Business Profile was edited or deleted — if the profile was changed or removed, the redirect will break.
- "Too many redirects" — the URL programmed on the card has a redirect loop. A cleaner URL will fix it.
The fix: re-save the card with a fresh URL
Step 1: Get a fresh, clean Google review URL
- Open Google Maps
- Find your business
- Tap Write a review
- Copy that URL
This is the cleanest version of your Google review link and rarely causes redirect issues.
Step 2: Update the card in the Zappycards app
- Open the Zappycards app
- Tap your card on the dashboard to open the Edit Card screen
- Tap Update Business Location to change the link, or edit the Redirect Link field directly
- Paste the new URL
- Tap Save Changes
- When prompted, tap your phone to the card to re-write the NFC chip
Optional: Shorten very long URLs
If your URL is very long and you see write errors, use a free shortener like free-url-shortener.rb.gy.
If none of this works
If you've updated the URL and the card still doesn't respond to multiple phones, the NFC chip may have failed. Contact support and we'll send a replacement.
