Our paints are water-based, so most marks come off with water and a little soap. Fresh paint is easiest, so it helps to clean up straight away.
How do I get paint off my skin?
- Wash with soap and warm water. Lather up and rub gently.
- Use a soft brush or cloth for stubborn spots. A soft nail brush or washcloth helps around fingernails.
- Give it time. Any light tint that's left usually fades after a few more hand washes.
How do I clean a table or desk?
- Wipe fresh paint right away with a damp cloth or paper towel.
- Soften dried paint first. Lay a damp cloth over the spot for a minute or two, then wipe.
- Use a little mild soap if a mark remains, then wipe with clean water and dry the surface.
- Be gentle on wood and fabric. Test on a small, hidden spot first, and avoid soaking wooden furniture.
How do I clean my water brush handle?
Wipe the handle with a damp cloth or tissue, then dry it. To clean the bristles between colors, squeeze gently and wipe the tip on your wristband or a tissue until the water runs clear.
What about my palette and clothes?
- Palette: wipe it with a damp cloth. Please don't soak your wooden palette or rinse it under running water. See "How do I clean dried paint from my wooden palette?"
- Clothes: see "Is the watercolor paint washable from clothes?"
