What Happens Next - Once this ID is added to an element, the chat icon will be hidden by default. - The chat window will only appear when a user clicks the element with the commslayer-widget-toggle ID. How to add chat to your Shopify store

Below is a concise step-by-step guide for installing Commslayer’s live chat widget on your Shopify store. Pay special attention to Step 5, where selecting Add to theme will open the Shopify theme editor. 1. Open the Commslayer dashboard 1. Log into your Commslayer account. 2. In the top left-hand menu, click Settings. 3. Navigate to Inboxes 4. Click Add inbox (the green button in the top-right corner). 2. Choose your channel 1. From the list of available channels (Chat, Email, Meta, Aircall), select Chat for Shopify. 2. Give the new channel a memorable name (for example, “Shopify Chat Channel”). 3. Create your Inbox 1. Fill out all necessary details for your Shopify store, like store name, widget color, welcome message, etc. 2. (Optional) Enable channel greeting if you want an automated welcome message. 3. Click Create inbox to finalize setup. 4. Add agents 1. Once your inbox is created, you’ll be prompted to add agents—these folks (or you) can respond to incoming chats. 2. Select the agents from the dropdown and click Add agents to confirm. 5. Add to theme (Shopify theme editor) 1. After creating your inbox, you’ll see a big Add to theme button. 2. Clicking this button will automatically take you to Shopify’s theme editor for your store. 3. Look in the App embeds section (it might be in the left sidebar), find Commslayer Chat Widget, and toggle it on. 6. Verify the chat widget 1. Open your Shopify storefront (live or preview). 2. Check for the Commslayer chat widget icon (usually in the bottom corner). 3. Send yourself a test message to confirm everything is working. 7. Done & done Congratulations—you now have a nifty chat widget in your Shopify store! When customers message you, you’ll see those chats appear in the Commslayer dashboard.
