Can the grow light fade artwork?

Last updated on Jan 15, 2026

That's a great question and a very valid concern!

UV light from the sun is what may cause fading and colour degradation in artwork, fabrics, and paint. A good thing is that our grow lights do not use UV (ultraviolet) rays and are designed to be safe to use in living spaces.

Our grow lights are also much less intense than the sun. They use a balanced spectrum to mimic daylight for plants, but at a much lower intensity, so it’s far less likely to damage or fade surfaces over time.

If the artwork is very close to the light (within a few inches) and exposed for long periods, there could be minimal fading over many years. But under normal use and at a further distance, it’s perfectly safe.
