What bandwidth does the Tempo Timer connect to?

Why Your Tempo Timer Only Connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi The Tempo Timer connects only to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks, not 5 GHz. This is because 2.4 GHz offers better range and wall penetration, which is ideal for small devices that don’t need high data speeds. Why You Might Have Trouble Connecting If your phone or router is using a 5 GHz-only network, the timer won’t show up during setup. Many newer routers broadcast both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz under the same Wi-Fi name (SSID), which can sometimes confuse smart devices. How to Fix Connection Issues: Option 1: Check if Your Router Has Dual-Band Mode. Most modern routers can run both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks simultaneously. - Open your router’s admin app or settings page. - Look for “Wi-Fi Bands”, “Dual-Band”, or “Smart Connect” options. - Make sure 2.4 GHz is enabled. - If both are combined under one name, you can temporarily disable 5 GHz while setting up the timer. Option 2: Rename Your Wi-Fi Bands. To make setup easier: - Rename your 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks differently (for example: - MyHome_2.4G - MyHome_5G) - Connect your phone to the 2.4 GHz network before setting up your Tempo Timer. Option 3: Use a Guest Network. You can also create a guest network that runs only on 2.4 GHz and use that for setup. Once the timer is connected, it will stay connected even if your phone switches back to 5 GHz. Keep the device within 3–5 m of the router during setup for the strongest signal.
