Live Hub: gym displays and competition boards

Category: Enode Pro portal

The Live Hub broadcasts training in real time. Athletes lift on the gym floor, every completed set is pushed to The Portal as it happens, and a screen in the gym renders it as a leaderboard, a competition attempt board, or a chronological live stream. Nobody types anything.

Creating a live session

  1. Open Live Hub in the Workspace group and choose New live session.
  2. Pick the live view. A session runs one view, chosen here.
    • Leaderboard: ranked athletes across up to four exercise panes, with a metric to rank by and an option to keep the leader pinned on top.
    • Competition: a weightlifting and powerlifting attempt board, covered below.
    • Stream: every set, chronologically, as one feed, with athlete and exercise filters and a summary strip.
  3. Name the session, optionally set an end date and a logo, and pick the devices taking part. Those are the phones and tablets whose training will broadcast.

Putting it on the screen

Every session card has a Present button, which opens a full-screen, chrome-free display view that keeps the screen awake. There is also a shareable present link, so the gym TV just needs a browser pointed at it, with no sign-in dance on the big screen.

Until the first set arrives, the display shows a waiting state rather than an empty board, and a session with no devices offers an add-devices shortcut.

On the gym floor

Nothing changes for the coach. Train as normal on the assigned devices. A floating LIVE chip in the app confirms the broadcast, sets appear on the display within moments, and edits or deletions update the board too.

Your data is never at risk from the broadcast. The session on the device is the authoritative record, and the broadcast is a copy pushed outward. If a push fails, on venue Wi-Fi for example, the app notes it quietly and the session carries on unaffected.

Running a competition board

The Competition view turns a gym display into a platform board for weightlifting and powerlifting meets: three attempts per lift, live, with no one typing results into a spreadsheet.

Create a live session as above and choose Competition as the view. Add the devices that will record the attempts, put the display in Present mode, and run the meet.

The board speaks competition language. Each athlete gets three attempts per lift, with the platform vocabulary you would expect: on the platform, current, best, open, failed or no lift. An athlete switcher and a lift rail move the display between athletes and lifts. As each attempt is completed on a recording device, the board updates within moments, and a no-lift ruled on the device shows as exactly that.

A practical running order. Assign one recording device per platform, name the session after the meet, and set an end date so the card retires itself. After the final lift, the complete session data is already in History, and the meet report writes itself from there.

One honest limit

Reps ruled invalid, whether by the coach or the automatic check, are withheld from the live display rather than shown unmarked, so the board never celebrates a number that would not count. The full, marked-up record is in the session itself and in History afterwards. See Invalid reps and rejected lifts.
