Running multiple workouts on one tablet

Category: Enode Pro training

On a tablet, Enode Pro runs up to three training stations side by side, which means up to three workouts at the same time from one device. Each column is a complete, independent training view with its own workout, its own group of athletes, its own sensor and its own controls. This is how one coach covers a squat group, a trap-bar group and a jump-testing rotation at once.

It is worth being precise about this: three stations is not three athletes. Each of those three workouts can contain as many athletes as you need, and you rotate through them within the station.

Stations and recording slots

Two ideas explain how it works.

A station is one training slot on screen: an athlete, an exercise, and optionally a sensor. A phone runs one station. A tablet runs up to three.

A recording slot is permission to save. Your licence includes a number of recording slots per device, meaning how many stations may record and store data at the same time. Stations beyond that limit still work for live feedback, but store nothing.

  • An empty station past your limit shows Request station slot.
  • If a recording station goes over the limit, for example after a licence change, it shows a blocking overlay with three choices: request a slot, finish and save, or discard.
  • An athlete-role user is always guaranteed one recording slot for their own training.

How many slots you have is set by your plan and managed in The Portal. See Devices and stations.

Opening and closing stations

Open a new station from the sidebar with Open new station. If more stations are open than fit on the screen, the columns scroll sideways, snapping one station at a time. The app flags stations that are currently off-screen and asks before closing them in bulk. The last remaining station cannot be closed; closing it returns you to the schedule. Manage stations in the sidebar gives you an overview of everything open.

Rotating athletes through a station

You do not need one station per athlete. Tap the athlete's avatar in a station's header to rotate through everyone training that exercise. Reps that arrived before an athlete switch are kept with the right athlete.

Sensors follow the station

A sensor belongs to the station rather than to one athlete's session. Finish one athlete's training and the app asks whether to keep the sensor connected, defaulting to yes, so the next athlete starts without re-pairing. Sensors can also be reassigned between stations mid-session from the connect sheet.

Athletes who cannot record

An athlete whose licence does not allow recording can still be listed as a participant, so your session reflects who was in the room. The app warns you when you add them, marks their chip, and never records data for them. A workout in which no participant can record cannot be started.

Practical tips

Place the tablet where all rotating athletes pass by, with clear line of sight to the sensors. And note that spoken rep feedback is available only when a single station is running: three sets of spoken numbers over each other would help nobody, so it turns off automatically with several stations open.
