Best Practices for Using Your Magnilink Magnetic Cable

Using your Magnilink Magnetic Cable is easy and satisfying — but to get the best performance and durability, a few simple steps and precautions go a long way. Here’s how to use your cable like a pro. 📦 What’s Included? Depending on the model you ordered, your cable will come with either: - A pack of 2 USB-C magnetic tips - Or a set of 3 magnetic tips: USB-C, Micro-USB, and iOS (Lightning) These tips are reusable, interchangeable, and designed for long-term use with all your devices. 🧼 Step 1 – Clean Your Charging Port Before inserting the tip into your phone or device, it’s important to clean the charging port. Dust, lint, or debris inside your port can: - Cause weak magnetic hold - Lead to tips falling out - Or even cause a short-circuit 🧰 Use an air spray or a wooden toothpick to gently remove any dirt. ⚠️ Never use metal tools — they could damage your port! 🔌 Step 2 – Insert the Magnetic Tip Gently insert the magnetic tip into your device’s charging port. Make sure: - The tip sits flush and firmly - There’s no wiggle or looseness You can leave the tip inside your device — it’s safe and won’t harm your phone. ✅ Step 3 – You’re Good to Go! Now just bring your cable close — it’ll snap into place magnetically. Enjoy instant charging without fumbling with cables! (That wasn’t too complicated, was it?) 📝 Tips to Maximize the Life of Your Cable 🧲 1. Leave the Tip In You can safely leave the magnetic tip inside your device — it won’t damage your port and actually helps protect it from wear and tear. ↘️ 2. Disconnect Gently To unplug the cable, use a diagonal motion rather than pulling straight. This reduces stress on the connector and prevents it from bending or breaking. ❌ Don’t yank it out vertically — this can weaken or damage the connector over time. 💥 3. Protect Against Drops The magnetic tips are made with precision — but magnet material is more fragile than standard metal. - A hard drop can damage the tip. - If it becomes chipped or cracked, stop using it and replace the tip. 🧹 4. Clean Magnets Periodically If you notice that the magnet feels weaker over time, check for dust or debris on either side of the connection (cable head or tip). - Use a soft cloth or cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol to clean it. - Avoid moisture or liquid cleaners.

Magnilink Magnetic Cable and Compatibility with Android Auto / CarPlay

Many customers ask us if our magnetic cables work with Android Auto or CarPlay. The short answer is: they can, but compatibility may vary depending on your vehicle and setup. Below, we explain the key points to help you understand why. 🔌 Data Transfer: All Magnilink Cables Support It All our Magnilink cables support data transfer speeds up to 480 Mbps, which is the standard required for Android Auto and basic CarPlay functionality. This means that technically, our cables are capable of supporting both systems. 📱 Apple CarPlay Compatibility While our cables are designed to work with CarPlay, there are some limitations to consider: - Newer CarPlay systems often require a “Made for iPhone” (MFi) certified cable. - Apple does not provide MFi certification for magnetic cables, so our products cannot be officially certified, despite being technically compatible. - As a result, CarPlay may work flawlessly in some vehicles, while others may not recognize the cable at all. Important: This limitation is related to Apple’s certification policy, not a defect in our cable. 🤖 Android Auto Compatibility For Android Auto, the situation is a bit different: - Android Auto requires at least 480 Mbps, which our cables fully support. - For basic use (maps, calls, music), our cables generally work well. - However, some advanced Android Auto setups (especially in newer car models) may require USB 3.0 speeds for more demanding functions — and our cables do not currently support USB 3.0. ⚠️ Pivoting Head Designs and Connection Stability Another factor to keep in mind is the mechanical design of our magnetic heads: - Cables like the DUO PIVOT, 180 ULTRA, and 360 PRO feature pivoting, rotating heads for flexible use. - While convenient, these moving parts can reduce connection stability, especially for data transmission. - On bumpy roads, the pivoting design may cause split-second disconnections, which can interrupt Android Auto or CarPlay. ✅ For Maximum Stability If you’re planning to use Android Auto or CarPlay regularly, we recommend: - Using a straight-head cable like the Magnilink MAXX, ULTRA, or PRO. - Ensuring a tight and clean connection between the cable and adapter. - Avoiding thick or damaged phone cases that might interfere with the magnetic connection.

Troubleshooting Guide: Magnilink Magnetic Charging Cable Not Working

If your Magnilink MAXX, PRO, or ULTRA magnetic cable isn’t working as expected, don’t worry — most issues can be fixed in a few simple steps. Follow the guide below to restore charging functionality quickly. 🧼 Step 1 – Clean the Magnetic Connectors Dirt, dust, or metallic particles can block the connection between the cable and magnetic tip. ✅ Try this: - Use a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol (70% or higher) to clean: - The cable head - The magnetic tip - Or use a can of compressed air to blow out any debris - Let everything dry completely before trying again ⚠️ Most issues come from micro-debris — this step alone fixes the majority of charging problems! 🔌 Step 2 – Check the LED Indicator When you plug the cable into a power source: - Does the LED light turn on? - ✅ Yes = power is flowing - ❌ No = check your charger or cable connection Try using a different wall adapter to rule out charger issues. 🔁 Step 3 – Swap or Reinsert Magnetic Tip If your cable came with multiple magnetic tips: - Try using a different tip (if available) - Remove and reinsert the current tip into your device carefully - Make sure the tip is fully inserted and sits flush Tip: You can even attach the tip directly to the cable to test the connection without your device involved. 📱 Step 4 – Test With Another Device To rule out a device-specific issue: - Try charging a different phone or tablet - If the issue doesn’t occur with another device, the problem may be with the charging port or software of your original device ⚡ Step 5 – Check USB Compatibility Some devices (especially newer Android or USB-C devices) may not support charging via USB Power Delivery (PD) when used with magnetic cables. ✅ Try this workaround: - Use a USB-C to USB-A adapter instead of a USB-C to USB-C wall charger - This disables PD and provides a more stable charging connection (though slower) 🔄 Step 6 – Check for Intermittent Charging If charging starts and stops when you move the cable: - The issue could come from cable bending or tip misalignment - Try holding the cable straight and avoid rotating the head during use - For the most stable experience, use a straight-head cable (e.g., Magnilink MAXX, PRO, ULTRA) instead of a pivoting one ✅ Summary Checklist Question Try This Is the LED light off? Test a different charger Dirty tip or cable? Clean with isopropyl alcohol Charging cuts off when bending? Hold the cable straight, try a straight model Tip loose or not sitting flush? Reinsert or try another tip Device not charging at all? Try a different device Using USB-C PD? Use a USB-A adapter to disable PD 📩 Still Not Working?
