Why Is My Plant Not Responding to the Light?

Last updated on Nov 05, 2025

If your plant isn’t showing much change under your grow light, it could be due to a few common reasons. Plants often need an adjustment period of 1–3 weeks to adapt to a new light source, so growth may be slow at first. We recommend running the light for 8–16 hours a day, as shorter durations may not provide enough energy for growth.

The distance from the light also matters. If it’s too far away, the intensity drops, Keep your light about 25–90 cm above the plant for the Pianta, or slightly further for the Claria. If growth seems slow, try moving the light a little closer.

Keep in mind that light is only one part of plant health; watering, humidity, and nutrients also play a role. Lastly, some plants naturally grow slower or only show visible changes during their active growth season. If you’ve checked all these factors and still don’t see improvement, feel free to send us a photo of your setup at hi@grow-gang.com and we’ll be happy to recommend adjustments so your plant can thrive.
