Troubleshooting Guide: DUO PIVOT & Other Non-Magnetic Cables Not Charging
If your DUO PIVOT or other non-magnetic Magnilink cable isn’t working properly, don’t worry — most issues can be fixed
at home in a few simple steps.
This guide will walk you through how to diagnose the problem and fix it quickly. If the issue persists after
troubleshooting, you can easily contact our team for support.
✅ Step 1 – Clean the Connectors
Dirt, lint, or moisture can block the connection between your cable and device.
Try this:
- Use a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol (70% or higher) to clean:
- The USB-C tips on both ends of the cable
- The port on your device
- Use compressed air to blow out any dust or micro-debris
- Let everything dry fully before plugging in

🔌 Step 2 – Check the LED Indicator
When plugged into power, your DUO PIVOT cable should show a small LED light.
- 💡 If the LED is on: The cable is receiving power.
- 💡 If the LED is off: Try plugging the cable into another wall charger or power source.
Make sure you’re using a charger that supports USB-C Power Delivery if your device requires it.
🔁 Step 3 – Try a Different Setup
To isolate the issue:
- ✅ Test the cable with a different device
- ✅ Use a different charger or USB-C port
- ✅ Compare it to another USB-C cable if you have one
If the cable works with other devices but not yours, your phone/tablet or its port may be the cause.

If your cable works sometimes but not always — especially when you move it — it could be a flex point issue.
- Try keeping the cable still while charging
- Make sure the connector sits securely in the port and isn’t loose
- Avoid bending the cable too tightly, especially at the joint
⚡ Step 5 – Check USB-C Power Delivery Compatibility
Some newer Android devices only support USB-C to USB-C charging via Power Delivery (PD). Others, especially older
phones, may work better with USB-A to USB-C adapters.
If you’re unsure:
- Try charging with a different type of charger or adapter
- Consider using a slower but more stable USB-A port
