If your battery is not charging or your skateboard won’t turn on, follow these steps to diagnose and fix the issue.
Step 1: Ensure Proper Charging Procedure
-
Connect the charger to the battery before plugging into the wall.
-
Line up the charger pins with the battery pins.
-
Push the connector straight in - do not insert at an angle.
-
⚠️ Do not force the connection or cross the pins, as this can cause damage.
-
-
Plug the charger into the wall outlet.
-
The charger light should turn red 🔴 while charging.
-
The charger light will turn green 🟢 when fully charged.

Step 2: Troubleshooting Charging Problems
Charger Light Won’t Turn On
-
Try a different power outlet.
-
Check if the charger cable or battery port is damaged (e.g., pins bent, debris / dirt in the connector, pin melted, etc).
Charger Light Stays Green, But the Battery is Dead
-
Unplug the charger for 30 seconds, then reconnect it.
-
Ensure the charger is fully inserted into battery before plugging it in.
-
Try another outlet or test the charger with a different battery (if available).
Battery Not Holding Charge or Draining Too Fast
-
Fully deplete and recharge the battery to recalibrate the indicator.
-
If the battery continues draining quickly, it may need to be replaced.
Battery Won’t Charge or Takes Too Long
-
Ensure all connections are secure and that the charger light turns red when plugged in.
-
If the battery is too hot or too cold, let it return to room temperature before charging.
-
Inspect the charger cable and battery port for visible damage or dirt.
Step 3: Battery is Fully Charged but Skateboard Won’t Turn On
-
Check the ESC and battery connection.
-
Ensure the battery is firmly plugged into the ESC (the skateboard’s main controller).
-
If the connection is loose, unplug and securely reconnect it.
-
-
Turn on the ESC properly.
-
Quickly press the 🔘 ESC power button once and wait 5 seconds.
-
If the ESC is working, a green LED light will turn on inside the skateboard (📷 see below):

-
-
Try turning the ESC on manually.
-
Spin one of the skateboard wheels as fast as possible by hand.
-
If the ESC is functional, the system should detect motion and power on.
-
-
Try holding the power button.
-
Press and hold the power button for 2-3 seconds, then release.
-
Wait up to 10 seconds for the green LED light to turn on.
-
Avoid pressing the power button multiple times in quick succession.
-
-
Try turning the board on with the charger plugged into the ESC (no battery connected).
- If the board turns on only when plugged in, the issue could be with the battery’s connection to the ESC or the battery / ESC may need to be replaced.
